What is A Business Visa ?

A Business Visa is a type of Indian visa issued by the government of India to foreigners for business meetings, buying, and exploring new business opportunities. Indian Government includes some activities.

  1. Establishing or exploring business ventures: The Indian High Commission issues a Regular/Paper Visa and E-visa to foreigners to set up new businesses and investigate potential new business opportunities in India.
  2. Conducting business transactions: It’s also issued to buyers and sellers, service providers, or attending business meetings in India.
  3. Attending conferences and trade shows: It’s also required for foreign nationals to attend industry events, exhibitions, and fairs in India.
  4. Consulting and training: A foreigner can also apply for a Business Visa for consulting and participating in training and technical discussions.

Who Can Apply for A Business Visa?

A Business Visa is issued to foreigners in India to start a new business, conduct meetings, training, etc. Here we are sharing who can apply for a Business Visa for India.

Eligibility for a Business Visa

  • Foreign nationals who come to India to sell and purchase products.

  • Foreigners who want to recruit manpower can also apply for a Business Visa in India.
  • A partner in a business or director of an Indian company can also be eligible for a Business Visa.
  • Foreigners can also apply for a Business Visa to participate in trade fairs and business fairs in India.
  • Specialists in their field who want to visit India for a short period can also be eligible for a Business Visa in India.
  • Foreign national trainees of multinational companies/corporate houses coming for in-house training can also apply for a Business Visa.

FRRO Business Visa Registration

Business visa holders who are travelling to India must register with the concerned FRRO within 14 days of arrival if a business visa holder has a visa validity of more than 180 days in India.

FRRO registration processing time is 7 to 21 working days. It can also take longer than the usual time as per FRRO response.

FRRO Business Visa Extension

An e-business visa is a non-extendable visa in India. Only a regular business visa holder can apply for an FRRO extension on the e-FRRO portal. The applicant needs to submit the details and documents as per their visa type in India.

How to Apply for an FRRO Business Visa Registration and Extension?

e-FRRO/e-FRO/ Business/ FRRO Visa Registration and Extension is granted by the Indian Government.  Here we have shared with you the steps to apply for the FRRO process in India.

  • Search e-FRRO Online.
  • Click on New Registration.
  • Fill in the email, phone number, applicant name, date of birth, nationality, and gender.
  • Register with your email and set a password.
  • Log in to the e-FRRO Portal. Select the required service, FRRO Business Visa Service, and fill out the application form.
  • Upload the required documents in PDF format and a passport-size photograph.
  • Submit and wait for further instructions from the FRRO.
  • Check your application status regularly. If the FRRO sends an additional document request, upload the required documents at the earliest possible.
  • Once the FRRO opens the payment request, then log in to your account and pay the government fee via UPI, net banking, credit card, or debit card.
  • The FRRO will send your certificate to your registered email.

What are the Document Checklists for Business Visa Registration?

FRRO requires applicant and company documents to grant an FRRO Visa Registration in India. Here we have shared the FRRO registration documents checklist.

  • Applicant’s 51 × 51 mm light background passport-size photograph.
  • Applicant’s passport first and last page copies.
  • Applicant’s visa and immigration stamp page.
  • Copy of incorporation letter.
  • Copy of invitation letter.
  • Registration certificate/residential permit.
  • Company PAN Card Copy.
  • Notarized original indemnity bond for ₹100 stamp signed by an Indian person.
  • Applicant address proof in India like — Form C copy of the hotel/house electricity bill/house landline telephone of the house owner in case of staying in a house of a friend or relatives, along with an NOC letter and photo-identity card of the house owner.
  • A request letter on company letterhead.
  • Undertaking letter from the company that should be printed on company letterhead.FRRO

What are the Document Checklists for Business Visa Extension?

FRRO requires applicant documents, company documents, and tax documents to grant a visa extension in India. We have shared the document checklist.

  • Applicant’s 51 × 51 mm light background passport-size photograph.
  • Applicant’s passport first and last page copies.
  • Applicant’s visa and immigration stamp page.
  • Permission letter from RBI/GOI in case of joint venture/collaboration.
  • Copy of incorporation letter.
  • Copy of invitation letter.
  • Page bearing director’s identification number.
  • Applicant’s Income tax return.
  • Company tax documents.
  • Company balance sheet showing turnover.
  • Registration certificate/residential permit.
  • Copy of PAN card and bank statement.
  • Copy of the company PAN Card.
  • Notarized original indemnity bond for 100 Rs. stamp signed by an Indian person.
  • Applicant address proof in India, like Form C copy from the hotel/house electricity bill/house landline telephone of the house owner in case of staying in a house of a friend or relatives. Along with an NOC letter and photo identity.

Can A Business Visa Holder Convert Into An Entry Visa in India?

It’s is a non-convertible visa in India, but it can also be converted into an entry visa in the following circumstances in India. If a foreigner who is married to an Indian passport holder and does not want to continue their work and business in India, then it can be converted into an entry visa with multiple entries for 1 to 5 years. Here we share the eligibility to convert a B-1 Visa into an Entry Visa in India.

  1. A foreign national who is married to an Indian passport holder/OCI Cardholder is eligible to convert their visa into an entry visa in India.
  2. Indian origin — A foreign national whose parents/grandparents are Indian passport holders/OCI cardholders can also apply for visa conversion and convert their visa into an entry visa in India.
  3. A person who had an Indian Passport in the past and surrendered it can also convert their Business Visa into an Entry Visa in India.
