A foreigner of Indian origin/ Married for more than 2 years to an Indian National who is staying continuously in India for more than 6 months is eligible for an OCI Card. It usually takes 2 to 3 months for India Origin and 3 to 4 months for foreigners who are married to an Indian nation/OCI card Holder. You have to visit the OCI Portal to Apply it online.
Overseas Citizenship of India(OCI) Card usually takes 2 to 3 months for India Origin and 3 to 4 months for foreigners who are married to an Indian nation/OCI card Holder. Please follow the instructions below.
1. Please Visit the OCI Portal.
2. Select the Application type(New OCI Registration, OCI Registration Of Lost PIO-Card, and OCI Miscellaneous Service).
3. Fill out the application for Section A and Section B.
4. Upload the Signature and Photo( a Light Background with 80% face).
4. Upload the required documents in PDF format.
5. Submit the application form and download the application form.
6. Email to FRRO and Request for An OCI Submission appointment.
7. Prepare The Demand Draft needs to be in favor of “The Pay and Accounts Officer (Secretariat), Ministry of Home Affairs’ payable at New Delhi.
8. Visit the FRRO Office along with the application and original documents.
OCI Card fee in India
If the application is submitting an application in FRRO itself, an amount of Rs. 15,000 INR needs to be paid for New OCI Registration, 5,500 INR for OCI Registration (In Lieu Of Lost PIO-Card). and 1,400 INR for OCI Miscellaneous Service through Demand Draft. The Demand Draft needs to be in favor of ‘Pay and Accounts Officer (Secretariat), Ministry of Home Affairs’ payable at New Delhi.

- Applicant’s 51* 51 MM light background 2 Passport Size Photograph.
- Applicant's Passport First Page Copy.
- Applicant's Visa and Immigration stamp page Copiy.
- A Copy of Surrender Certificate( If Hold Indian Passport).
- A Copy of Cancelled Indian Passport ( If Hold Indian Passport).
- A signed NOC Letter form parents ( If Minor).
- Applicant Address Proof In India Like -Form C copy from Hotel/ House Electricity bill / House Landline Telephone of the house owner in case of staying in a house of a friend and relatives along with a NOC letter and photo-identity card of the houseowner.

How To Get Surrender Certificate
A Surrender Certificate/Renunciation Certificate is required for an OCI Card in India for an Indian who acquired a foreign citizen in India. Applicant needs to fill out an Online Surrender Indian Passport application on the Passport Seva Website and has to pay the fee over there. Thereafter applicants have to book an online appointment and Visit the Passport Office. it usually takes 1 to 2 working days days.
