What is a PAN Card?
PAN is a 10-digit Unique Identification number issued by the Government of India. When PAN is allotted to an entity, this service is taken care of by the Income Tax Department. A person can also use a copy of the PAN card as proof of identity in India.

Document Checklist to Apply for A PAN Card
To apply for a PAN in India, the applicant needs to submit the following documents as per their type:
1. Individual PAN Applicant
Proof of identity such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, etc.
Proof of address such as utility bill, water bill, bank account statement, statement of your credit card, Passport, Driving License, etc.
2. Company PAN
A copy of the Registration Certificate issued by the Registrar of Companies.
3. PAN for Firms and Limited Liability Partnerships Registered or Formed
A copy of the Registration Certificate issued by the Registrar of Companies.
A copy of the Partnership Deed is to be submitted.
4. PAN for Trusts Formed or Registered
You will have to submit a copy of the Registration Certificate Number issued by the Charity Commissioner.
5. Applicants must be Foreign National Citizens of India
Copy of passport with self-attested
Copy of arrival stamp and Indian visa – self-attested
2 passport-size photographs with white background
Copy of registration certificate – self-attested
Annexure B – printed on company letterhead.
Copy of employment contract with self-attested
PAN card of signatory with self-attested
Application form with applicant’s signature.
Delivery Fees for Foreigners in India and Outside India

The following are the fee details for a Foreigner’s:
- Physical PAN Card delivered outside India: Rs. 994, which includes dispatch charges and application fees.
- Physical PAN card delivery within India: Rs. 107.which includes dispatch charges and application fees
Government Fee Refund Process
The PAN application can be rejected on grounds of incorrect or incomplete information or failure to adhere to the instructions. In such cases, the government fee is non-refundable.
