However, due to a lack of information about immigration or due to negligence, if a tourist visa holder overstays in India, they immediately need to visit the nearest police station or apply for an online Exit Permit application on the E-FRRO portal.Â
What is the Processing Time to obtain an Exit Permit on A Tourist Visa?
Tourist visa holders travel to India for tourism purposes, but if they stay beyond their visa validity in India for less than 30 days, the Processing Time is 7 to 21 Working Days, and sometimes it will be less than 7 days. However, if a tourist visa holder stays in India after their tourist visa expiry for more than 30 days, the FRRO can take more than 21 Working Days and may also ask for a police clearance certificate from the nearest Police Station.
