Indian Employment Visa Registration for South Korean Nationals: Complete FRRO and e-FRRO Guide (2026)

By , Fargo Worldwide  |  Published:  |  Official guidance last checked: 13 October 2026

Quick Answer

A South Korean national who enters India on an Employment Visa valid for more than 180 days must generally apply for registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) or Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) within 14 days of arrival, under Rule 12 of the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025. The application is made online through the e-FRRO portal or the official Indian Visa Su-Swagatam app, with your passport, visa, Indian address details and employer documents. The authority may request more information, an interview or biometrics. Visas valid for 180 days or less, and visas carrying a specific endorsement, follow different rules, so always read your own visa and confirm current official guidance.

Moving to India for work is a big step. For many Korean engineers, managers and technical specialists, the flight, the new apartment and the first week at the plant or office take up most of the attention. The immigration paperwork that follows arrival is easy to underestimate, especially when the forms, the terminology and the online portal are all unfamiliar.

That is where problems usually start. A rental agreement in a landlord's name that does not match the address entered online. An appointment letter that lists a different designation from the one on the visa application. A request from the registration office for a revised employer undertaking, sent to an email inbox nobody is checking. None of these is dramatic on its own, but each can slow down a registration that has a fixed legal deadline.

This guide explains FRRO registration for Korean employment visa holders in plain English. It covers who needs to register, how the e-FRRO system works, which documents are typically involved, what employers can do to help, and what to do if something goes wrong. It is written for Korean professionals themselves and for the HR teams, global mobility managers and Indian subsidiaries that support them.

One point before we begin: India's immigration framework changed recently. The Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025 (notified on 1 September 2025) replaced the old Registration of Foreigners Rules, 1992, and the rules were amended again in June 2026. Older blogs and checklists you find online may describe the previous system. Everything below was checked against official sources on 13 October 2026.

1. What Is an Indian Employment Visa?

An Indian Employment Visa (E visa) is the visa category issued to a foreign national who will take up employment in India with an Indian company or organisation. It is a regular (paper) visa applied for through the Indian Visa Online portal and processed by an Indian Mission, such as the Embassy of India in Seoul. According to the official visa provisions table, it is generally granted for one year or the period of the contract, allows multiple entries, requires proof of employment, and can be extended in India.

Who typically qualifies

Eligibility is set by the Ministry of Home Affairs and applied by the Indian Mission. In broad terms, the visa is meant for skilled and qualified professionals engaged by an Indian entity. Official Mission guidance, for example the Embassy of India in Dublin's Employment Visa page, states that the applicant's annual salary should not be less than USD 25,000, with listed exceptions. Korean applicants should confirm the current conditions with the Embassy of India in Seoul, because Missions publish their own procedural details.

Common situations involving Korean nationals

Korean companies have a large manufacturing, engineering and technology footprint in India. Typical Employment Visa situations include:

  • Engineers and plant specialists posted to an Indian subsidiary of a Korean manufacturer.
  • Managers and executives seconded to lead an Indian operation.
  • Technical experts supporting installation, commissioning or quality control under an Indian employment contract.
  • Professionals hired directly by an Indian company that has no Korean parent at all.

The employer's role

The Indian employer or sponsoring organisation is central to the Employment Visa. It issues the appointment letter or contract used in the visa application, and it usually provides letters, undertakings and company records later, during registration and any extension. In practice, a Korean employee rarely completes registration without some input from the Indian entity.

Employment Visa vs. Business Visa

The difference matters, because the two categories carry different permissions and registration triggers.

PointEmployment VisaBusiness Visa
Core purposeTaking up employment with an Indian entityBusiness activities such as meetings, negotiations and sales visits, not regular employment
SponsorIndian employer / organisationIndian business contact or the applicant's own company, depending on the case
RegistrationGenerally required within 14 days of arrival when the visa is valid for more than 180 daysDepends on visa validity and any stipulation on length of each stay; often required only if the person will stay beyond 180 days

Korean nationals are also eligible for India's Visa-on-Arrival facility, which the Embassy of India in Seoul notes is available for business, tourism, conference and medical travel. It is not a route to employment. If the purpose of your stay is paid work for an Indian entity, the Employment Visa is the category to discuss with the Mission and your employer.

Read your visa before you start work. Nationality does not change the conditions attached to a visa. A Korean passport holder must meet the same Employment Visa conditions as anyone else, including any endorsement printed on the visa itself, such as an instruction to register within a specific period. For a broader overview of the category, see our Employment Visa India guide.

2. Do South Korean Nationals Need FRRO Registration in India?

In most Employment Visa cases, yes. But the answer comes from the visa and the rules, not from nationality.

Under Rule 12(1) of the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025, a foreigner must, for registration and to avail visa services in India, submit an application within fourteen days of arrival, either on the "Indian Visa Su-Swagatam" mobile app or in Form-I on the designated portal, indianfrro.gov.in. Rule 12(4) then lists the main situations where registration is not necessary:

  • A visa valid for not more than 180 days, where the person does not stay beyond that period, unless the visa endorsement specifically requires registration.
  • A visa valid for more than 180 days that carries a stipulation that each stay shall not exceed 180 days, where the person does not wish to stay beyond 180 days on any single occasion or in aggregate in a calendar year.
  • A child below twelve years of age.
  • A registered Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Cardholder.

A typical Korean Employment Visa granted for a year or longer, with no each-stay stipulation, falls outside these exemptions. That is why the commonly quoted rule is: Employment Visa valid for more than 180 days → register within 14 days of arrival. The official visa provisions page and the Invest India FAQ state the same principle.

If your Employment Visa is valid for 180 days or less and you later need to stay longer, the June 2026 amendment matters. As reported by All India Radio News, registration in that situation must now be completed any time before the 180 days run out, rather than within 14 days after; late registration is allowed only in emergent circumstances.

Do not confuse two different numbers. "14 days" is a registration deadline that runs from arrival. "180 days" relates to visa validity or the permitted length of stay. Your visa may allow you to stay for years, yet still require you to register within the first two weeks.

Who does what

TermWhat it means
FRROForeigners Regional Registration Officer/Office. Under Rule 10, the FRRO performs the functions of the Registration Officer for its region.
FROForeigners Registration Officer. Performs the same registration functions in areas without an FRRO and functions under the jurisdictional FRRO.
Bureau of ImmigrationThe central body that, under the 2025 Rules, provides registration and visa-related services to foreigners and administers the related IT systems. See boi.gov.in.
e-FRROThe official online system at indianfrro.gov.in/eservices for registration, extension, address change, exit permits and related services.

A common misconception

Many new arrivals assume that a visa stamped in Seoul, plus immigration clearance at the airport, completes all formalities. It does not. Visa issuance and arrival clearance permit you to enter India; registration is a separate, post-arrival obligation with its own application and its own outcome.

3. FRRO Registration vs. e-FRRO: What Is the Difference?

People often use "FRRO" and "e-FRRO" interchangeably, but they describe different things. The FRRO/FRO is the authority that decides your case. e-FRRO is the online channel through which you apply to that authority. Think of e-FRRO as the counter and the FRRO as the officer behind it.

For most foreigners, the e-FRRO workflow involves:

  • Online application. You create an account, select the registration service and complete the form (Form-I under the 2025 Rules) with passport, visa, address and employer details.
  • Document upload. Supporting documents and a photograph are uploaded in the format the portal specifies.
  • Tracking. Each application receives a reference, and its status can be followed online or through the Su-Swagatam app.
  • Clarification requests. The authority may return the application asking for further documents or corrections.
  • Appointments or appearance. Rule 12(3) allows the Registration Officer to call for additional information, a personal interview or biometric information at a place and time it fixes.
  • Fees. Where a government fee applies to a service, it is paid through the portal.
  • Decision. When satisfied, the Registration Officer grants a Certificate of Registration under Rule 13, which indicates the period you are authorised to stay and any places of stay specified on the visa.

The Indian Visa Su-Swagatam app, developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, gives access to e-FRRO services from a phone. Whether you use the website or the app, the exact screens, service names and document prompts depend on the category selected and on the procedures in force when you apply.

4. Step-by-Step FRRO Registration Process for Korean Employment Visa Holders

The sequence below reflects how a typical Employment Visa registration unfolds. Not every application follows it exactly. Some cases move straight from submission to decision; others involve several rounds of queries.

  1. Review your Employment Visa and passport. Check your name, passport number, visa type, validity dates, number of entries and any printed endorsement. Spelling differences between your passport (for example, the romanisation of a Korean name) and other documents should be identified now, not after submission.
  2. Confirm whether registration is required and identify the deadline. Apply Rule 12 to your visa: validity over or under 180 days, any each-stay stipulation, any endorsement. If registration is required within 14 days, count from your date of arrival as shown by the immigration stamp, and note the date in your calendar.
  3. Identify the competent FRRO/FRO. Jurisdiction is based on where you reside in India, which is not always the same city as your employer's registered office. An engineer living near a plant in one state while the company is registered in another should expect the residential jurisdiction to apply. The portal routes the application once you enter your address details.
  4. Collect the documents relevant to your case. Gather passport and visa copies, photograph, address proof and employer documents (see Section 5). Ask your HR team early; company letters often need internal sign-off.
  5. Access the official e-FRRO portal. Use only indianfrro.gov.in/eservices or the official Su-Swagatam app. Register with an email address you check regularly; this is where official messages will arrive.
  6. Select the appropriate service and complete the application. Choose the registration service for your visa type. Enter details exactly as they appear in your passport and visa, and enter employer details exactly as they appear on company records.
  7. Upload the supporting documents. Follow the portal's file format and size limits. Make sure each scan is complete, legible and correctly oriented. Uploading a blurred or partial page is one of the most avoidable reasons for a query.
  8. Review everything before final submission. Compare the form against your passport, visa, appointment letter and address proof side by side. Save or print the submitted application and note its reference number.
  9. Respond to additional document requests. If the application is returned for clarification, read the request carefully, provide exactly what is asked and respond within any time given. Partial responses tend to create a second round of queries.
  10. Attend an appointment or verification if instructed. If the authority calls you for an interview, biometrics or verification, attend at the stated time and place with original documents. Do not assume an in-person visit is needed unless you are told it is.
  11. Pay applicable government fees if required. Pay only through the official channel shown in the application. Keep the payment receipt.
  12. Monitor the application until an official decision is issued. Uploading documents or completing a verification step does not mean the application is approved. Check status regularly until a decision appears.
  13. Retain the registration record. Download and store your Certificate of Registration with your passport copies, visa copy and submission records. Banks, landlords and later immigration applications such as extensions commonly ask for it.

5. Documents Required for FRRO Registration for South Korean Nationals

The e-FRRO portal shows the documents required for the service you select, and the authority can ask for more under Rule 12(3). The list below reflects what FRRO registration for Korean employment visa holders commonly involves. Treat it as a preparation checklist, not as the official requirement for your case.

Standard preparation documents

  • Valid South Korean passport. The bio-data page and relevant pages. The passport is the anchor for every other detail in the application.
  • Indian Employment Visa. The visa page, together with the immigration arrival stamp, which establishes when the 14-day period began.
  • Recent photograph. In the size and background specified on the portal. Rejected photographs are a frequent and easily avoided query.
  • Proof of residential address in India. Shows where you live, which determines jurisdiction and is recorded in your Certificate of Registration.
  • Employer's appointment letter or employment contract. Confirms the employment that the visa was issued for: employer name, designation, duration and terms.
  • Contact details. An Indian mobile number and an email address that you actively monitor.

Documents required only in certain cases

  • Rental agreement or accommodation documents. Where you rent, the lease commonly serves as address proof. If the lease is in the company's name, a supporting company letter may be needed.
  • Form III (formerly Form C) records. Under Rule 17, a "keeper of accommodation" must submit Form III online within 24 hours of a foreigner's arrival. The Rules define accommodation broadly, including hotels, guest houses, hostels, home stays and rented accommodation. If you are staying in a hotel or serviced apartment while house-hunting, the Form III submission is usually how your stay is recorded.
  • Employer's request letter and undertaking. Many Employment Visa registrations involve a letter on company letterhead requesting registration and an undertaking regarding the employee. Wording and format can vary by office and case.
  • Employer's incorporation or registration documents. Such as the certificate of incorporation, where requested to confirm that the sponsoring entity exists and is registered.
  • Employer identification, tax or business records. Where the authority asks for them, for example to verify the company's status.
  • Any further documents requested by the FRRO/FRO during processing.

Consistency matters more than volume. Uploading extra paperwork does not compensate for a mismatch. The name, passport number, designation, employer name and address should agree across the form, visa, appointment letter and address proof. Requirements may vary by applicant, location, employer and current official instructions, so check the portal's prompts for your service on the day you apply.

6. Employer Responsibilities for Korean Employees Working in India

In FRRO registration for Korean employment visa holders, the law places the obligation on the foreigner. In practice, the employer holds many of the documents that make the application work. Obligations also vary: an employer that provides housing may be acting as a keeper of accommodation under Rule 17, while one that does not will have a narrower role. Here is where employers typically make the biggest difference.

Accurate employment details

The appointment letter should state the employee's full name as in the passport, the designation, the employing entity's exact legal name and the period of employment. These should match what was submitted for the visa.

Consistency across documents

Mismatches often arise when a Korean parent company issues one letter and the Indian subsidiary issues another. Decide which entity is the employer for Indian immigration purposes and keep every document aligned to it.

Letters and undertakings

Prepare request and undertaking letters on letterhead, signed by an authorised signatory, in the format the case requires. Build in time for internal approvals.

Correct residential information

If the company leases accommodation for the employee, make sure the address used in the application matches the lease and any Form III record.

Timely responses

Queries from the authority sometimes require a revised company document. A named HR contact who can turn these around quickly reduces delays.

Communication with the employee

Brief the employee, ideally in Korean where helpful, about the deadline, the need to monitor email and the possibility of an appointment call. Many issues come from the employee simply not knowing a message arrived.

Record retention

Keep copies of submitted applications, certificates and correspondence. These are useful for extensions, audits and future assignments.

Incorrect employer information or inconsistent documentation does not automatically lead to refusal, but it frequently triggers clarification requests, and each request adds time.

7. Common FRRO Registration Problems Faced by Korean Nationals

The issues below are common to foreign nationals generally, not unique to Korean applicants. Each has a practical, compliant response.

ProblemPractical response
Incorrect passport or visa details entered onlineIf not yet submitted, correct it. If submitted, follow the portal's instructions or respond to the query with correct copies; do not file a duplicate application without checking how the system treats it.
Name romanisation differs between documentsUse the passport spelling everywhere. Ask the employer to reissue letters with the passport spelling.
Mismatched employment details (designation, entity)Align the appointment letter with the visa application and company records before filing.
Incomplete address proofProvide a complete, signed lease, or a company letter if the lease is in the company's name. Make sure all pages are uploaded.
Missing employer documentsRequest them from HR on day one after arrival; they are usually the slowest item.
Unclear accommodation recordsCheck with the hotel, serviced apartment or landlord that the Form III submission was made and that it reflects your current address.
Request for revised letters or undertakingsRead the exact wording requested and have the company reissue accordingly, signed by an authorised person.
Additional document requestsRespond completely and promptly. Keep a record of what was uploaded and when.
Verification taking longer than expectedKeep monitoring status and messages. Seek clarification from the relevant office if there is no movement for an extended period.
Appointment instructionsAttend as instructed with originals. If you genuinely cannot attend, follow any official rescheduling process rather than ignoring the date.
Difficulty understanding status messagesTake a screenshot and get it explained before acting. A wrong reaction to a status message causes more trouble than a short delay.
Change of residential address or employmentAddress changes must be reported under Rule 15. A change of employer is a separate issue (see Section 12).

8. How Long Does FRRO Registration Take?

There is no officially published fixed processing time for FRRO registration for Korean employment visa holders that applies to every case. Time depends on the completeness of the application, the workload of the office, whether verification is needed and how quickly you answer queries. Any timeline quoted by a private provider, including us, is an estimate based on experience, not a commitment by the authority.

It helps to understand the stages:

  • Submission: your application and documents are received through the portal.
  • Initial scrutiny: the office checks the form and documents.
  • Additional-document requests: the application may be returned for more information.
  • Verification: checks on address, employer or other details may be carried out.
  • Appointment or personal appearance: only if the Registration Officer calls for it under Rule 12(3).
  • Final decision: a Certificate of Registration is issued, or another decision is communicated.

While waiting, keep your passport accessible, watch your email and the app, and keep your submission reference handy. If the status has not changed for a long period and no query has been raised, it is reasonable to seek clarification from the relevant FRRO/FRO through official contact channels.

9. FRRO Registration Fees and Other Possible Costs

There are two separate kinds of cost to keep apart.

Government charges. Any fee for a registration-related service is set by the government and shown on the official portal when it applies. Fees and penalties can change, and they can differ by service. We do not list figures here; check the amount on e-FRRO at the time of applying, and pay only through the official channel.

Private assistance fees. If you or your employer engage a consultancy, its fee depends on the scope of work, such as document review only, full application support, or ongoing follow-up through queries. A reputable provider should state its fee and scope in writing and separately disclose any additional services, such as later address changes or extensions.

10. Can a Korean National Work in India Before FRRO Registration Is Completed?

This question deserves a careful answer rather than a simple yes or no.

Three separate things are involved. Visa validity determines whether you may be in India. Permission to undertake employment comes from the Employment Visa and its conditions. Registration is a separate obligation with a deadline of 14 days from arrival in most long-term Employment Visa cases. The rules set a window for applying; they are not phrased as a ban on starting work within that window.

Even so, circumstances differ. A visa may carry an endorsement, an employer may have its own policy, and the authority may give instructions in a specific case. The safe approach is to follow the conditions of your visa, apply for registration within the deadline, and ask the competent FRRO/FRO if anything in your case is unclear. If a Certificate of Registration is later issued with a restriction on period or place of stay, as Rule 13(3) allows, that restriction must be followed.

11. What Happens If Registration Is Delayed or the Application Is Pending?

The Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 provides for consequences when its requirements are not met, and the June 2026 amendment signals a stricter approach to timelines. That said, outcomes depend on the facts, and not every delay leads to a fine, cancellation or removal. What applicants can control is how they handle the situation.

  • Check the deadline that actually applies to you. Work it out from your visa and arrival date, not from a colleague's experience.
  • Keep evidence of submission. Save the acknowledgement, reference number and payment receipt.
  • Monitor official messages. A missed query is a common cause of an application stalling.
  • Respond promptly to requests. Delays caused by slow responses are the easiest to avoid.
  • Do not rely on assumptions. A pending application is not the same as a granted registration, and it does not extend your visa.
  • Get case-specific guidance if a deadline has passed. The right next step depends on how late, why, and what the portal now requires. Acting quickly and transparently is generally better than waiting.

12. FRRO Registration, Employment Visa Extension, and Change of Details

These are different processes and should not be mixed up.

ProcessWhat it does
RegistrationRecords you with the Registration Officer and results in a Certificate of Registration for the authorised period.
ExtensionSeeks permission to stay beyond the current visa or registration period. Applied for separately through e-FRRO, before expiry. Employment Visas are listed as extendable in India on the official visa provisions page.
Fresh visaA new visa applied for through an Indian Mission, for example where the circumstances no longer fit an extension.
Change of addressUnder Rule 15, you must inform the Registration Officer before leaving your address or changing it, and report within 14 days any circumstance that affects the accuracy of your Certificate of Registration.

Changing employer. Registration does not authorise a change of employer. Official Mission guidance, such as the Embassy of India in Dublin's Employment Visa page, states that a change of employer requires a fresh Employment Visa. Specific exceptions may exist, so check current Ministry of Home Affairs guidance and your own situation before changing jobs.

Absence and travel within India. Rule 15 also requires you to inform the Registration Officer if you will be away from your address for eight weeks or more, and to inform the relevant district if you stay elsewhere for more than eight weeks.

A registration certificate is not a visa. It records your registration for a stated period. It does not extend your visa, replace an expired one, or authorise new employment. For extension procedures, see our FRRO visa extension and registration guide.

13. Why Professional FRRO Assistance Can Help Korean Employees and Employers

Many applicants complete registration on their own, and the system is designed to allow that. Professional assistance is useful when time is short, documents come from several parties, or the applicant is unfamiliar with Indian administrative English. A good consultancy can help with:

  • Preparing a document checklist specific to the visa, employer and city.
  • Reviewing application information for consistency before submission.
  • Helping the employer prepare request and undertaking letters in an acceptable format.
  • Guiding document scanning and uploading to the portal's specifications.
  • Tracking application progress and flagging new messages.
  • Helping prepare responses to additional document requests.
  • Coordinating between the Korean employee, the Indian HR team and, where relevant, the Korean parent company.
  • Explaining the next administrative step in plain language.

It is important to be clear about limits. A private consultancy assists with the administrative process. It does not make government decisions, cannot guarantee approval or a processing time, and has no special access to officials. Decisions remain entirely with the competent authority.

16. Frequently Asked Questions About FRRO Registration for Korean Nationals

1. Do South Korean citizens need FRRO registration for an Indian Employment Visa?

Usually, yes. If your Employment Visa is valid for more than 180 days and none of the Rule 12(4) exemptions applies, you must apply for registration within 14 days of arrival. If the visa is valid for 180 days or less, registration is needed only if you will stay beyond 180 days or the visa endorsement specifically requires it.

2. What is e-FRRO registration?

e-FRRO is the official online system at indianfrro.gov.in through which foreigners apply to the FRRO/FRO for registration and other services such as extensions, address changes and exit permits. The same services are reachable through the Ministry of Home Affairs' Indian Visa Su-Swagatam app. The FRRO/FRO still decides the case; e-FRRO is simply the channel.

3. What is the registration deadline for Korean Employment Visa holders?

For an Employment Visa valid for more than 180 days, Rule 12(1) of the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025 requires an application within 14 days of arrival in India. For visas of 180 days or less, a 2026 amendment requires registration before the 180-day period ends if you plan to stay longer. Always check your own visa endorsement.

4. Can I apply for FRRO registration online?

Yes. The 2025 Rules specify submission through the Indian Visa Su-Swagatam mobile app or in Form-I on the designated portal, indianfrro.gov.in. The Registration Officer may still call for more information, a personal interview or biometrics, so online filing does not always mean the whole process stays online.

5. Which documents are needed for Employment Visa registration?

Typically your passport, Employment Visa with arrival stamp, a photograph, proof of Indian residential address and your appointment letter or contract. Employer request and undertaking letters, company registration documents and accommodation records are often involved too. The portal shows the list for your service, and the authority can request more.

6. Does my Indian employer need to provide a letter?

In many Employment Visa registrations, yes. A request letter and an undertaking on company letterhead, signed by an authorised signatory, are common. The exact format depends on the case and the office. Ask your HR team early, because company letters often need internal approval and can become the slowest part of the file.

7. Is Form C required for every Korean employee?

Form C has been renamed Form III under the 2025 Rules. It is filed by the keeper of accommodation, such as a hotel, guest house, home stay or landlord of rented accommodation, within 24 hours of your arrival. Whether it serves as your address proof depends on where you stay; tenants commonly rely on a lease instead.

8. Do I need to visit an FRRO office in person?

Not necessarily. Many applications are handled online. Rule 12(3) allows the Registration Officer to call you for a personal interview or biometric capture at a set time and place. If you receive such an instruction, attend as directed with your original documents; otherwise there is no need to visit.

9. How long does FRRO registration take?

There is no single official processing time for every case. Duration depends on document completeness, office workload, verification and how fast queries are answered. Submit a complete, consistent application early in the 14-day window and monitor your email and the app closely to avoid self-inflicted delays.

10. Can I work while my registration application is pending?

Your permission to work comes from your Employment Visa and its conditions, while registration is a separate obligation with its own deadline. The rules are not framed as a ban on working during the registration window, but individual endorsements, employer policies or official instructions may differ. Follow your visa conditions and ask the FRRO/FRO if unsure.

11. What should I do if the FRRO requests additional documents?

Read the request carefully and provide exactly what is asked, completely and promptly. If a company document needs revising, ask HR to reissue it in the wording requested. Keep a record of what you uploaded and when. Partial or late responses are a common reason applications take longer.

12. Can I change my Indian residential address after registration?

Yes, but you must report it. Rule 15 requires you to inform the Registration Officer electronically before leaving your address or changing it, and to report within 14 days any change that affects the accuracy of your Certificate of Registration. Moving to another FRRO's jurisdiction is handled through the same online system.

13. Is FRRO registration the same as Employment Visa extension?

No. Registration records you with the authority for an authorised period. Extension is a separate application to stay beyond the current visa or registration period, filed before expiry. A Certificate of Registration does not extend your visa and does not authorise a change of employer.

14. What happens if I miss the applicable registration deadline?

Consequences depend on the facts and the law in force; the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 provides for action when requirements are not met. Do not wait or assume. Apply or seek case-specific guidance as soon as you realise the deadline has passed, keep evidence of any reasons for the delay, and follow whatever the portal or authority requires.

15. How can I check my e-FRRO application status?

Log in to the e-FRRO portal or the Su-Swagatam app and use the status option with your application reference. Also check the email address you registered with, because queries and decisions are often communicated there. A status showing documents uploaded or verification done is not the same as approval.

16. Can Fargo Worldwide help with Employment Visa registration?

17. Does hiring an immigration consultant guarantee approval?

No. A consultant can help you prepare an accurate, complete application and respond well to queries, which may reduce avoidable delays. But approval, timelines and any conditions are decided solely by the authorities. Be cautious of anyone promising guaranteed results or special access to officials.

Conclusion: Complete Your Indian Employment Visa Formalities With Confidence

FRRO registration for Korean employment visa holders is a short process with a firm deadline,, and most problems trace back to a few avoidable causes: misreading the visa, starting too late, and submitting documents that do not agree with one another. The principles are simple. Check whether Rule 12 requires you to register and by when. Prepare consistent documents with your employer's help. File through the official e-FRRO portal or Su-Swagatam app. Watch for messages and answer them fully. Keep your records, and report address changes as the rules require.

If you are a South Korean professional arriving in India, or an HR team supporting one, we are happy to help you plan the registration before the clock becomes a concern. Contact Fargo Worldwide, message us on WhatsApp, or call +91-859-543-1267 to discuss your requirements.
